Brno - The Brno-Jundrov district wants to submit objections to the proposed update of the Brno city zoning plan. Many changes favor developers and completely ignore the quality of life of current residents, said Jundrov Mayor Ivana Fajnorová (SZ) today to ČTK. Local civic associations will hold a discussion with citizens at the end of January, where they will collect signatures necessary for the creation of the objection. The magistrate will discuss them in accordance with the Building Act, including a proposal for their resolution. The leadership of Jundrov welcomes the zoning plan update, but not in its presented form. "The change to the zoning plan of the city of Brno is a good intention with poor execution. Last year, we tried to draw attention not only to the inconsistency of the documents with reality but also to the reduction of comfort for Jundrov residents," Fajnorová stated. According to her, the change will allow for the construction of five-story residential buildings in the area below Dubová. "This will lead to an increase in the population and resulting traffic congestion in the central part of Jundrov, which will be beyond sustainable limits," the mayor emphasized. She added that the magistrate had not incorporated any of the comments into the proposal. "The Department of Urban Planning responsibly considered the submitted comments and took them into maximum possible account in relation to the approved requirements and proposed changes," informed Pavel Žára, spokesman for the Brno magistrate. The district still has the option to submit an objection, which it intends to do. The civic associations Náš Jundrov and Bydlení v Jundrově - housing in nature will hold a public discussion with citizens on January 27, where they will collect signatures. "200 signatures are needed to create an objection," Fajnorová pointed out. "We will deal with it in accordance with the Building Act, including publishing a proposal for resolution," added Žára.
