Biography
Václav Hlaváček graduated in 1987 with a focus on architecture and reconstruction from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague, and subsequently worked at the State Institute for the Reconstruction of Historical Towns and Buildings under the guidance of architect Pavel Kupka.
After a brief collaboration with the JéCé studio, he made a fundamental decision and began working with the Dutch studio Studio acht. Frequent visits to Rotterdam and collaboration on international projects influenced his perception of architecture and creative principles. Together with Ben Hoek, Ronald ver Maas, and Villem Kaukit, he brought Studio acht to Prague in 1993. Today, the studio has more than 50 members under his leadership, with offices not only in Prague but also in Brno, Olomouc, and Bratislava.
