Prague - Prague wants to investigate the discussion of Prague's building regulations. According to Mayor Adriana Krnáčová (ANO), there may have been a violation of the law. She stated this to journalists today after a meeting of the city's council. She therefore instructed the director of the municipality to investigate the matter and, if necessary, prepare a criminal complaint. "On Friday, several documents related to the assignment of legal services for the processing of Prague's building regulations came into my hands. There may have been violations of some regulations or laws," said the mayor. She did not want to specify what particular act it could be about. She only mentioned that it could involve a violation of public procurement laws, violation of internal regulations, or incitement to fraud. "In case of unlawful conduct, I then ordered the preparation of a criminal complaint," she stated. The building regulations are implementing regulations to the building law and were approved last summer by the previous city council led by then-mayor Tomáš Hudeček. Even before they came into effect in October, they sparked a vigorous debate. The billboard lobby initiated a strong media campaign against them due to the regulation of advertising that the regulations entail. The Ministry for Regional Development subsequently came up with comments and requested amendments to the regulations from Prague.
