Biography
Ján Stempel studied at the grammar school in Spišská Nová Ves and Banská Štiavnica. He then graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Budapest. From 1983 to 1990, he worked at Stavoprojekt in Liberec, and then from 1990 to 1991 at the studio SIAL Liberec. From 1991 to 2004, he was a co-owner of the architectural office A.D.N.S. in Prague. He participated in projects involving many new constructions and renovations both at home and abroad. Currently, he works in his own architectural office stempel&tesar and teaches at the Faculty of Architecture at ČVUT in Prague. He is a licensed architect, a member of the editorial board of the magazines Arch (since 1998), Stavba (since 2004), and Intro (since 2016).
