The company Schüco has introduced the new sliding-lifting system Schüco LivIngSlide, which was developed on the Schüco Living platform, plastic profiles for windows and doors. Customers thus gain the opportunity to perfectly match all glazed areas of the house in a single frame design, while profile processors benefit from more efficient production and assembly due to compatibility, and can, for example, use a large quantity of identical accessories. The new sliding-lifting system Schüco LivIngSlide is suitable for renovations as well as new builds in all climatic zones, from arctic -40 °C to equatorial +120 °C. The Schüco LivIngSlide sliding-lifting systems, usable for accessing terraces or winter gardens, are normally supplied with a patented solution in the form of weldable EPDM sealing, which was first used in the world by the manufacturer for windows and doors Schüco LivIng.
Sealing for arctic and equatorial temperatures
EPDM sealing is highly resistant to climatic influences over the long term, and is a top material that finds application in medicine and the aerospace industry, for example. It features excellent shape memory and guarantees great tightness of windows throughout their lifespan, even in critical corner areas of windows. In addition to perfect sealing effect, increased water resistance, and aesthetics without interruption throughout the perimeter, its advantages include UV resistance and stability in extreme climatic conditions, maintaining flexibility at temperatures from -40 °C to +120 °C, making it suitable for use in all types of buildings and in all climatic zones. Schüco is currently the only system supplier that offers its customers such high-quality EPDM sealing as standard. The company Schüco first presented the sealing technology, which it developed in collaboration with Semperit for the Schüco LivIng system platform, at the Fensterbau trade fair in 2016.
Easy operation of elements up to 2.6 meters high with sash weights of up to 400 kg
The Schüco LivIngSlide sliding-lifting systems are designed for demanding requirements in terms of stability, weather resistance, and water resistance. Manufacturers, or processors, benefit from the quick and easy processing and installation of these profiles. Schüco LivIngSlide is based on a 6-chamber design of the sash profile. With a construction depth of the sash of 82 mm, the system achieves a Uf value of 1.2 W/(m²K). In a white design, it is possible to manufacture elements with a width of up to 650 cm and a height of 260 cm, with a maximum sash weight of 400 kg. The stability of these large-format constructions is achieved by using steel reinforcements in the plastic frame, which have a hollow rectangular cross-section. Movable and fixed parts can be combined to allow easy operation of up to four sashes, designed as single or dual track sliding systems. The rollers help with safe centering and securing, making operation easier. Depending on the type of element, burglary resistance can be achieved up to class RC2. With a basic construction depth of the frame of 194 mm, the system is suitable for new builds and renovations in any climatic zone.
Efficient production is added value for processors
Schüco LivIngSlide follows the Schüco LivIng and is therefore compatible with the window and door system of this series. The added value for processors lies in the use of weldable EPDM sealing, machine processing of the sash, or simple installation. An advantage is also the accessory identical to the Schüco LivIng window system, allowing manufacturers to use a large number of identical complements. Processors further benefit from the use of additive glass bonding technology and the range of glazing beads available in thicknesses of 2 mm. This means that glass with thicknesses from 24 mm to 52 mm, including special glasses, can be glazed without the need to change the sealing of the glazing beads. The stable frame does not require additional reinforcement measures, which also shortens and streamlines production. Subsequent assembly is simplified, among other things, by a set of connectors. This reduces the amount of other sealing materials used, significantly simplifying installation. Processors can order profiles cut to optimal lengths with the corresponding fittings and handles as a complete package from a single source at Schüco. The Schüco LivIngSlide sliding doors can, like the Schüco LivIng windows and doors, be equipped with a wide range of decorative films, and the exclusive technology of metallic colors Schüco AutomotiveFinish or aluminum covering strips Schüco TopAlu is also available.
