The panoramic facade design Schüco FWS 35 PD with a visible width of aluminum profiles of only 35 mm and thermal insulation parameters at the level of a passive house was awarded the Red Dot Product Design Award 2019, along with five other Schüco systems.

We live in an era of generous glass surfaces of modern "transparent" architecture, which creates maximally glazed, light-permeable facades that connect the interior with the exterior, while we do not want to compromise on energy efficiency. The subtle facade system Schüco FWS 35 PD for glazed cladding has a unique visible profile width of just 35 mm and meets the thermal insulation values of passive house standards.

The Schüco FWS 35 PD facade system creates representative structures with a literally wide-angle visual impression and is particularly suitable for ground floor facade areas of residential and non-residential buildings, such as shops or showrooms. The panoramic design with minimal visible profile width guarantees an uninterrupted view and an external perspective of the facade. This is why the almost frameless combination of the Schüco FWS 35 PD facade system with the Schüco AWS 75 PD.SI (Panorama Design, Super Insulated) window systems and the Schüco ASE 67 PD sliding and lifting systems has been awarded the prestigious 2019 Red Dot Product Design Award for its puristic design.

The modular system Schüco FWS 35 PD is compatible with triple glazing up to 52 mm thick, facade constructions of different visible widths (50, 60, and 80 mm), and classic Schüco AWS window and door systems, respectively Schüco ADS. The clamping profiles of the installation frame are also suitable for the integration of the Schüco AWS window series with mechatronic fittings Schüco TipTronic, which enables automatic night cooling and sensor-controlled ventilation.

The Schüco FWS 35 PD facade system is produced in two levels of thermal insulation with HI and SI insulators. The passive house certified system achieves a heat transfer value of Uf up to 0.90 W/(m²K). It is tested against break-in in security class RC 2.

In addition to its excellent appearance, the added value of the facade is also efficient production and easy installation. The new prefabricated modular components have significantly accelerated the manufacturing process and processing. An optimized connection system to the building structure and a patented fastening system with snap-in profiles reduce joints and allow for rational, safe, and dimensionally tolerant assembly.
