The new Schüco CSB (Concealed Shaped Blind) outdoor sunshade in the form of an aluminum slat roller reliably withstands wind speeds of 9 to 10 on the Beaufort scale, which means it can even endure strong storms capable of uprooting trees. Thanks to its transparency of more than 23%, it allows people inside the building to stay connected to the outside world even when the shade is completely drawn.

Thermal comfort and lighting conditions within buildings are significantly influenced by shading technology. Appropriate shading protects against direct sunlight and glare, overheating of spaces, and contributes to the even distribution of light throughout the day. Architects and developers thus require flexible solutions that are effective against sunlight, resistant to wind, and also aesthetically appealing.

The Schüco CSB sunshade is stable even in strong winds

The Schüco CSB outdoor sunshade is fully integrated into the Schüco FWS 50/60 façade system and significantly reduces heat in the building even during hot sunny days. This shading also manages sunlight effectively in windy weather, up to wind speeds of 25 m/s, which corresponds to a gale to a strong gale capable of uprooting trees on the Beaufort scale. Such resistance is provided by slats made of extruded aluminum, which remain stable under wind pressure thanks to guiding rails housed in covered cassettes/brackets. The high transparency, or visibility, of up to 23% is created by the combination of aluminum slats and the gaps between them. Complete shading from sunlight is ensured when the angle of incoming rays is greater than 21°. The blinds are manufactured in anodized colors C0 and C31 to C35, allowing them to be perfectly matched to the facade color or create interesting color effects.

Advantages in processing and installation

The Schüco CSB sunshade is part of the SchüCal calculation software, facilitating the planning of the blind configuration. Weighing 4.6 kg/m², the roller is relatively lightweight. It is supplied on a roller, making it ready for immediate installation. The only adjustment required during installation is to modify the size of the guiding rails on the sides. Additional savings are achieved as the setting of the upper and lower end positions of the roller is done easily during the first use, instead of through a lengthy manual process. Automatic stopping, including obstacle detection, protects the Schüco CSB from damage due to improper handling.

In addition to the new CSB, Schüco's range includes the highly wind-resistant CTB sunshade systems for windows and facades or the ALB sliding shutter system.
