Rakovník – The Rakovník councilors today approved a new zoning plan for the city during an extraordinary meeting, which will impact the city's development for the coming years. It determines the possibilities for land use, including potential construction, but also delineates areas that should be designated only for greenery. The approval of the new plan was a condition for the creation of a parking lot near the Rakovník railway and bus station, allowing the city to advance in preparing the documentation for the building permit.
The preparation of the new zoning plan took eight years in Rakovník. It was delayed by numerous objections and comments that officials had to address formally. In the last year, discussions were also slowed down by the coronavirus epidemic. The plan will come into effect soon. "By the end of the week, the city will issue a generally binding measure that will be published on the official board. It will come into effect after fifteen days," said Rakovník city hall spokesperson Kateřina Hradilová in response to a query from ČTK.
The current Rakovník zoning plan is over twenty years old and is not digitized. The new plan has been discussed publicly multiple times, with some objections and comments exceeding twenty pages.
