Rakovník - Residents of Rakovník can participate in a public discussion of the amended draft of the zoning plan at the end of January. This document will determine the development of the city in the coming years. Rakovník, with 16,000 inhabitants, currently operates under a zoning plan that is over 20 years old, which is not sufficiently specific in some areas. Comments on the discussed amendments can be submitted by property owners, landowners, and public representatives until February 5, the Rakovník press spokesperson Jiří Cafourek informed CTK today.

In approving the draft zoning plan, the office must also address objections and comments from residents. It can approve or reject them, but it must always justify its decision. "Comments, objections, and remarks submitted after the specified deadline will not be considered," Cafourek added. The public discussion will take place on January 29 at 4:00 PM at the Rakovník Cultural Center.

The entire process, from commissioning the development of the plan through several public discussions to final approval by the city representatives, takes several years. The Rakovník council is expected to discuss the new version of the zoning plan this year. It will only come into effect after being approved by the representatives and after the legal deadlines have passed.

The zoning plan addresses, for example, the buildability of specific areas, determines places where commercial buildings can be established, and identifies areas that may only contain greenery. Approval of the new zoning plan is among other conditions for the creation of a catchment parking lot near the train and bus station.
