Rakovník - Rakovník is preparing a new zoning plan, which will expand green areas in the city, for example. The potential further development of the city is dependent on the zoning plan. Until December 5th, residents can send objections and comments. The mayor of Rakovník, Pavel Jenšovský (ČSSD), said this to reporters today. The plan will likely be approved by the council next year.

New green areas are to be added, for example, near the hospital, as well as other small parks, so that they are accessible by foot for families with children and athletes.

On Tuesday, a public discussion of the proposed new plan took place in Rakovník, attended by approximately 70 people and also by a designer who answered the residents' questions. The office has already addressed the comments and objections received so far, and now it depends on whether further ones will come. "After the deadline of December 5th, the team preparing the plan will meet again, we will evaluate what comes in, and we will determine the next steps based on whether the objections are fundamental or not," said the mayor.

Part of the industrial zone also extends into the city center, which is why the aim is to add green areas, even though Rakovník already has about 62 hectares, which is relatively high according to the mayor. Space for the potential expansion of the industrial zone has been reserved long-term and was already included in the current zoning plan.
