Ventilation System Schüco VentoLife: Clean air is worth its weight in gold

A sophisticated approach to design and functionality has earned Schüco three prestigious awards, including the Gold Award at the iF Design Award 2018 for the Schüco VentoLife system in the category of Building Technology. The exceptional design of the ventilation system, which allows for ventilation while breathing clean air even in cities, was selected as the winner by an international jury comprised of 63 independent experts, who evaluated 6,400 entries from 54 countries. Their accolades went to Schüco two more times. The iF Design Award in the Building Technology category was awarded to the nearly frameless construction made up of a combination of sliding and facade systems with the panoramic design of Schüco ASS 77 PD and Schüco FWS 35 PD. Another recipient of the iF Design Award is the fire and smoke protection system Schüco FireStop.

Schüco VentoLife: Gold Ventilation Design Solution for Ventilation Even in Cities

The Schüco VentoLife ventilation system is integrated into the window profile and features a multi-layer high-performance air filter that removes unwanted impurities - dust and other harmful particles for human health, primarily found in urban areas - from the incoming air. During recirculation, the air within the room is cleaned so effectively that the smallest particles, allergens, and harmful compounds under one micrometer are filtered from the air with an efficiency of 99.5%.


"The truly exceptional feature of this window offers an integrated automatic filter and ventilation system that prevents harmful substances from passing through the air. The precision of the craftsmanship and careful selection of materials is evident and tangible. This makes it a true expression of cutting-edge modern architecture, with even the display harmoniously integrated. The system is suitable for aluminum profiles and can be installed in Schüco facade systems; it can also be used in modernization projects," the expert jury justified its decision to award the gold iF Design Award 2018 to the Schüco VentoLife system.

Thanks to the VentoLife system, certified by TÜV, Schüco can offer filtration solutions that impress even with their unobtrusive installation. The unit can be integrated into selected Schüco window and facade systems from inside or outside, horizontally or vertically, enhancing the architectural quality of both residential and commercial buildings. The supply of outdoor air into the room is ensured by a sensor-controlled air damper (humidity, particulate pollution level, and volatile organic compound contamination are monitored). The electrically operated air/recirculation damper protects against drafts and rain even in the open position. It closes automatically according to the air quality in the room. The display with LEDs provides current information about the operating status and quality of the surrounding air.

iF Design Award 2018 for Amazing Panoramic Design of Nearly Frameless Systems

Maximum transparency thanks to narrow frames - the visually nearly frameless combination of the Schüco ASS 77 PD sliding system with the Schüco FWS 35 PD facade system creates a striking puristic design. The glazing can be recessed into the floor or mounted into ceiling soffits and features high thermal insulation and resistance to intrusion. The panoramic design was awarded the title of iF Design Award 2018 by the jury.

Safe and Aesthetic Fire Protection Solution Schüco FireStop Received the iF Design Award 2018

The fire and smoke protection system Schüco FireStop is a safe and aesthetic solution. The narrow door profiles of the aluminum fire doors with a visible width of just 127 mm, the option to enlarge system dimensions with a clear passage width of up to 1500 mm and a height of up to 3100 mm, along with concealed fittings, represent a top construction solution that deserved the iF Design Award 2018. Due to the open geometry of the profiles, additional changes and modifications can be easily implemented in the Schüco ADS 90 FR 30 fire systems and the Schüco FireStop ADS 76.NI SP smoke systems.
