Passive houses consume roughly 90% less heat than conventional buildings. Compared to the average new building, this figure is also significant, with energy consumption being over 75% lower. Achieving these values requires a well-thought-out building concept and, of course, energy-saving building elements, including suitable window systems. One such system is the Schüco LivIng Alu Inside windows made of PVC-U, which received a certificate from the German Passive House Institute in Darmstadt after complete comparative calculations, confirming that they meet the thermal insulation values for passive houses. Patented aluminum strip technology provides stability to plastic windows

Schüco LivIng Alu Inside is a plastic profile system without steel reinforcement that offers the best thermal insulation. The foundation is the patented technology of aluminum connecting strips, which are extruded from an endless aluminum strip into the plastic profiles. They provide the entire structure with stability, which is practically equivalent to profiles with steel reinforcement. With this highly thermally insulating plastic system, affordable industrial production of windows can be achieved without using steel at the passive house level, as evidenced by the received certificate. Before welding, the aluminum strips can be easily and quickly milled using a milling machine. This eliminates the time-consuming need for screw fastening, as in the case of steel reinforcement. All other manufacturing steps are performed in the usual manner and using conventional manufacturing equipment. The absence of steel reinforcement also positively affects assembly, as the components are significantly lighter and therefore easier to handle. Since the Schüco LivIng Alu Inside structure is part of the Schüco LivIng platform, manufacturers can combine profiles and utilize a large number of identical accessories, including aluminum covering strips.

EPDM sealing guarantees excellent window tightness throughout their lifespan

Schüco LivIng Alu Inside achieves the required values also thanks to the weldable EPDM sealing for window and door systems, which was developed in collaboration with Semperit. The patented EPDM sealing is highly resistant to weather conditions in the long term, characterized by excellent shape memory, and guarantees excellent window tightness throughout their lifespan, even in critical corner areas. In addition to perfect sealing effect, increased water tightness, and aesthetic appearance without interruption around the entire perimeter, its advantages include resistance to UV radiation and stability in extreme climate conditions, as well as maintaining flexibility even after welding at temperatures from -40 °C to +120 °C, making it suitable for use in all types of buildings and all climatic zones.

The Schüco LivIng Alu Inside window system has no thermal bridges

The 7-chamber profile construction, omission of steel reinforcements, and specific placement of aluminum strips ensure that the Schüco LivIng Alu Inside window system has no thermal bridges. This is achieved thanks to the material inside the profile system, a high-quality aluminum alloy, which reflects about 90% of thermal radiation due to its polished surface. The central sealing system with three stages of water drainage, optimal chamber distribution, and additional large-volume insulating zones for the placement of Neopor® insulation blocks ensure excellent thermal insulation values (Uf of 0.87 W/m²K). According to tests by Dr. Feist, the Schüco LivIng Alu Inside system meets the requirements for passive houses using additional Neopor® blocks, achieving values as low as Uf = 0.79 W/m²K. The optimized geometry of the window frame grooves allows for the use of supplementary adhesive technology.

The Schüco LivIng Alu Inside window system is available not only in a basic gray color, but various colored outdoor covering strips from Schüco TopAlu, metallic colors from Schüco AutomotiveFinish, or a wide portfolio of PVC films from Schüco UnlimitedFinish can be applied.

The energy-efficient windows in the Schüco LivIng Alu Inside profile system are 100% recyclable.
