In the winter semester of 2016, as part of the course 'Architect in Practice' for 2nd year MSP students, a lecture series of Czech-Slovak and foreign architects will take place at the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno. On Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 5:00 PM, co-founder of Atelier Brno, Professor Petr Hrůša, will give a lecture in room A118. The course is open to all interested at the faculty as well as the general public.
Prof. Ing. Arch. Petr Hrůša (*1955 Brno) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno (1981) and subsequently worked as the head of the architectural group Atelier 01 at Stavoprojekt Brno (1981-90). From 1990 to 1992, he served as the chief architect of the city of Telč. In 1990, he participated in the summer school of architecture led by Prince Charles in Oxford and Rome. In 1991, he co-founded the firm Atelier Brno, was a member of the Heritage Council of Prague Castle from 1990 to 1992, and led the Summer School of Architecture in Liberec in 1992. From 1991 to 1996 and 2001 to 2007, he taught at the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno. Since 2008, he has been teaching at VŠB-TU in Ostrava. In 2006, he was appointed associate professor, and in 2014, he was appointed professor of architecture. Since 2015, he has been a visiting professor at the Institute of Heritage Care at the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague.
