In the winter semester of 2016, within the course 'Architect in Practice' designed for second-year MSP students, a lecture series featuring Czech, Slovak, and international architects will take place at FA VUT in Brno. On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 6:00 PM, Berlin architect Nils Wenk will give a lecture in room A118. The course is open to all interested parties at the faculty as well as the general public. The lecture will be held in English without translation.

Nils Wenk
studied architecture at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) in Cottbus from 1995 to 2002. During the winter semester of 2000-01, he completed an internship at ETH Zurich. In 2007, he co-founded the studio Wenk und Wiese Architekten with Jan Weis. Since 2010, he has been running his own studio Wenk Architekten in Berlin. One of the main activities of the studio is the revitalization and modernization of historically protected buildings. One of the studio's most well-known projects is the revitalization of a 19th-century pumping station in Berlin-Neukölln into an art gallery. Nils Wenk has received numerous awards for his work: Hans-Schaefers Prize (2010), Heinze Architects Award (2010), Best Architects (2014). His projects have been published in Wallpaper magazine, Architectural Digest, New York Times, ARCH+. Since 2011, he has been a lecturer at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) in Cottbus.
