In Brno, a year-long renovation of Údolní began today; trams will not operate

Brno - In Brno, today, the Údolní street has been closed for a year from the intersection with Úvoz to the turn to the swimming pool at Kraví hora. Trams have not been running to Míru Square since Tuesday and end at Úvoz, where there is a temporary switch. Neither trams nor cars will be able to pass through the street.

All underground engineering networks will be repaired on Údolní, after which a new road and tram track will be constructed. Once the repairs are finished, the adjacent streets of Klácelova, Kampelíkova, and a part of Lerchova will continue to be repaired, which will last until the end of next year.

Bi-directional trams will continue to operate on the tram line, as the closure also affects the other end of the line in Maloměřice. A replacement bus line x4 will run from Komenského Square along the route of trolleybus lines 38 and 39 to Vaňkovo Square and further along Lerchova to Míru Square. Here, the bus will be re-marked to line 68, and people will be able to continue towards Tábor, Klusáčkova, and Šumavská without transfer.

After the repairs, a barrier-free bi-directional stop Všetičkova will function, and it will be of the so-called "Vienna type," where the road at the stop is raised to the level of the sidewalk. The one-way stop Heinrichova will still be accessible from the sidewalk.
