<div>Zóna Zlín has prepared another series of guided walks around the city</div>

Zlín - Visitors and residents of Zlín can become acquainted with the architecture of the city through the project Zóna Zlín. It offers regular walks around the city, organized by the department of tourism of the city with the authors of the database Zlín Architectural Manual and the association aArchitektura. Three thematic routes will guide interested parties through interesting places in the city and allow them, with a little imagination, to return in time to the era of Baťa's Zlín, stated the city hall spokesman Tomáš Melzer today.

Interested individuals can choose from walks Planned City, Housing at Baťa, or Factory in Gardens. The walks take place from May to September, every Wednesday at 3:30 PM and on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The routes alternate regularly. In addition to walking through the city, the guide will offer the opportunity to peek into one of the three selected interiors related to the theme of the walk.

"In this fifth season, we have newly included, in addition to Building 44 located in the factory complex and the Tomáš Baťa Memorial on Gahurův Boulevard, the Baťa house, which is home to the Infopoint of Baťa housing," said Mayor Jiří Korec (ANO).

The Planned City route presents Zlín's architecture against the backdrop of essential urban functions. "Besides the historic center, it includes part of the factory complex and familiarizes with the high-rise buildings on náměstí Práce. It will show the way of Baťa's accommodation and typical workers' houses. The walk through Zlín's functionalist architecture ends with a visit to the Tomáš Baťa Memorial, one of the most attractive buildings of the last century," said the spokesman.

The Housing at Baťa route heads to the first workers' quarter Letná, which expanded near the factory complex in the 1920s and 1930s. "The expedition will stop at houses that are examples of early housing – plastered four-plex houses and a house with a mansard roof, which were not built in other quarters, duplexes, and variants of single-family homes. Participants will also learn about the rules and regime that the residents of the quarter had to follow," the spokesman stated. The third route, Factory in Gardens, leads to the former factory area of the Baťa company.
