Brno - Starting from the beginning of May, part of Údolní Street, from the intersection with Úvoz to the intersection leading to the swimming pool at Kraví hora, will be closed for approximately a year. Due to the complete repair of underground networks and the reconstruction of the tram line, neither cars nor public transport will pass through this area. Therefore, the transport company has prepared a replacement bus line that will connect Komenského náměstí, Úvoz, Vaňkovo náměstí, náměstí Míru, and the Tábor stop, said the spokespeople of the transport company, Barbora Doležalová.
"Tram line 4 will be serviced by bidirectional cars and will have its terminus at the Úvoz stop," said Doležalová. Currently, the second terminus is located elsewhere than during normal operation, due to the repair of Valchařská Street; the line operates only to Tomkovo náměstí. Bus line x4 will travel from Komenského náměstí along the routes of trolleybus lines 38 and 39 to Vaňkovo náměstí and further along Lerchova to náměstí Míru. Here, the bus will be renumbered to line 68, allowing passengers to continue without transfer towards Tábor, Klusáčkova, and Šumavská.
"In terms of connection offerings and accessibility to náměstí Míru, we recommend primarily using route 68 via the Tábor stop, where one can transfer from tram lines 3 and 11. The night bus line N89 will also detour between the Úvoz and náměstí Míru stops along the aforementioned route identical to line x4," stated Doležalová.
After the repairs, the bi-directional barrier-free stop Všetičkova will operate and will be of the so-called Vienna type, where the road at the stop is raised to the level of the sidewalk. The one-way stop Heinrichova will continue to be accessible from the sidewalk.
During the repairs of Údolní, adjacent streets Klácelova, Kampelíkova, and part of Lerchova will also be repaired. However, not everything will be done simultaneously to keep the area traffic-accessible.
