Brno - Brno has found a company to prepare the project documentation for the next phase of the reconstruction of Údolní Street in the section from Husova Street to Úvoz. The company PK Ossendorf will prepare the documentation for 11.5 million crowns. The Mayor's Deputy Richard Mrázek (ANO) told reporters that the documentation should be completed within 16 months of signing the contract. The city is currently reconstructing Údolní Street in the section from Úvoz to Kraví Hora, with work expected to finish next year. Each of the two phases will cost about 200 million.

The selection of the company for the project documentation was approved by the city council. "The subject of the contract is the preparation of documentation for the zoning decision, building permit, and also documentation for the construction implementation including geodetic surveys, inventory of greenery, geodetic investigation, and exercise of author's supervision," listed Mrázek. The phase also includes the solution of the intersection of Úvoz and Údolní.

Construction in the section from Husova to Úvoz could begin in 2020. However, it will depend on the new political representation. The current coalition of ANO, Žít Brno with the Pirates, KDU-ČSL, Greens, and TOP 09 will be replaced by a coalition of ODS, KDU-ČSL, Pirates, and ČSSD.

Údolní is in poor condition. The initiated section and the planned part anticipate a complete replacement of the utility networks, such as sewage, water supply, gas, and electricity. This will be followed by replacing the tram track, reconstructing the traction power lines, and modifying the surface including sidewalks, parking, and greenery.

In recent years, Brno has reconstructed several streets for hundreds of millions, such as Milady Horákové, Horova, and Minská. The leadership planned to reconstruct other streets in the future, such as Benešova, Štefánikova, and Veveří.
