Pardubice - Pardubice, along with architect Tomáš Jiránek, are adjusting the project for the renovation of Tyršovy sady. They want to change it so that it bothers critics as little as possible. In the past, they particularly disagreed with the felling of certain trees. If everything goes smoothly, the project could be completed in time to be co-financed by European funds. This was reported by the mayor's deputy, František Brendl (Pardubáci). The repairs were supposed to start in the summer, but the company that was to carry them out withdrew from the contract. "We are approaching a model that should be passable. If even that is not the case, then there is no point in renovating the space. We should have the complete revised project documentation from the architect ready by December 10. At the working meeting, I would then like to familiarise the council members with those changes, and theoretically, during December we can announce a tender for the contractor," said Brendl. Critics of the project particularly pointed out that it plans to cut down around 400 trees and a number of shrubs, considering the extent unnecessarily high. They also objected to the high cost of the modifications, with the budget estimating 83 million crowns. Benches became a symbol of protests, with one costing nearly 69,000 crowns. If everything goes smoothly, the city should meet the deadlines for grant titles, which are to play a significant role in financing the 70 million crown project. The original application was withdrawn some time ago when the winner of the tender for the park's reconstruction refused to fulfill the signed contract and terminated it. The regional council extended the deadlines for completing projects from the integrated development plans of regional cities at the request of Pardubice. By the end of next year, 75 percent must be expended, and by the end of 2014, then 99 percent of the funds.
