Nové Město na Moravě - A new pavilion for the children's department will be built in the hospital complex in Nové Město na Moravě in the Žďár region after the demolition of the old building. The current pavilion is in poor technical condition. The estimated price of the public contract approved by the regional council is 90 million crowns excluding VAT. According to Deputy Governor Vladimír Novotný, the new pavilion could start serving patients by the end of 2018.

According to the technical deputy of the hospital, Jiří Drdla, the current children's pavilion was built in the 1950s and is the oldest building in the complex.

"The technical condition reflects this - windows do not seal, the electrical, water, and sewage systems are outdated, and the spatial arrangement is inadequate,"
Drdla told ČTK today. Therefore, he believes that the demolition and construction of a new building is a better solution than the renovation of the old pavilion.

Construction between the gynecology and internal medicine pavilions should begin this spring after a public tender. According to Drdla, the bed capacity should be increased from the current 25 to 33 beds in one- to four-bed rooms.

The new building will be less energy-intensive, and doctors will work with the latest technology. The pavilion will include specialized departments. The first floor will be reserved for outpatient services. During construction, the outpatient clinics and patients will be relocated to other departments. According to Novotný, the construction of the new children's department pavilion will be one of the last significant investments in the Nové Město hospital for a long time.
