The company has agreed with the conservationists on the form of the new Petrova bouda

Hradec Králové - Conservationists and the Snowy Chalet company have agreed on the design of a new building that will be constructed on the site of the ruins of Petrova bouda in the Krkonoš ridges. Martin Havlík from Snowy Chalet announced today that the company will build two smaller buildings inspired by the appearance of the hut from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The original Petrova bouda was destroyed by a large fire in August 2011, which consisted of three structures.
    The conservationists, who initially requested a replica of the burned-down building, asked for some modifications to the project, which the company has already included in its documentation. For example, the conservationists requested surface treatments for the cladding and white paint for the windows. "There should definitely be no major disagreements left. We simply reached an agreement, and the company accepted most of our comments on the proposal," confirmed Jiří Balský, director of the Regional Expert Workplace of the National Heritage Institute in Josefov, to ČTK today.
    According to Balský, the conservationists asked the company to bring the project as close as possible to the appearance of the original Petrova bouda. "We wanted a traditional character for the building, not something modernist, which they ultimately accepted," said Balský. The company estimates on its website that it could theoretically obtain the building permit in May.
    The project plans to construct a smaller complex, as the original design is economically unfeasible, thus they are considering only two smaller buildings that would partially operate self-service. The costs are estimated at 100 million crowns, and construction is expected to take two years.
    The new Petrova bouda is expected to offer accommodation for approximately 50 people in a shared dormitory as well as in private rooms, dining in an outdoor and indoor buffet, and wellness facilities with a jacuzzi, steam room, and saunas. Its self-service aspect lies in the fact that interested guests will first pick up keys at the Špindlerův Mlýn information center and stay overnight at Petrova bouda in a sleeping bag with a disposable liner, without needing any staff assistance.
