Prague - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development Ivan Bartoš (Pirates) will gladly inform all coalition partners about the current status, deployed functionalities, and the further plan for the digitization of the building permit process at Wednesday's government meeting. He stated this to ČTK in response to the request from TOP 09 for a coalition meeting on the complications associated with the introduction of the new system. He had already agreed with Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) to include the information in the government meeting. He also noted that the ministry is in very close contact with professional organizations, representatives of local governments, as well as individual offices and unions.
"Based on the feedback according to the agreement, we are developing information systems, and at the same time, standard planned development continues," said Bartoš. He reminded that, for example, today he had another meeting with representatives of the Association of Secretaries of Municipal and Local Authorities, for which he thanks them.
According to him, the most important thing is to successfully complete the massive project, which is one of the largest digital projects since the revolution. "For years, there has been deep dissatisfaction with the length of the building permit process and the entire procedure, but no one had the courage to do anything about it, precisely because of the enormous complexity of the whole project. Without that, there would never be a chance for improvement, even though it will not come immediately, and in the first phase, there are difficulties that we do not deny, on the contrary, we are actively addressing them. However, in the long run, it will indeed pay off," he reiterated.
The presidency of TOP 09 today decided to call a coalition meeting. According to the resolution, the party leadership is strongly concerned about the digitization of the building permit process, for which Bartoš is responsible. The launch of the digitized system is accompanied by problems that, according to some previous statements from coalition politicians, are serious enough that if the Ministry of Regional Development does not resolve them by the end of August, Bartoš should take responsibility. The chairwoman of TOP 09 and the Chamber of Deputies, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, told Czech Television today that TOP 09 wants to achieve an improvement in the system, not Bartoš's resignation. She expects that a broader format of meetings of the coalition leaders K15 will convene on the matter in the coming weeks.
