Reflection

The structure of the landscape, city, and architecture shapes a person, just as we shape it.
However, structure is not the goal, but the means.
Goals in global society are unclear, and thus the structure becomes muddled.
It is as if people are losing depth on a societal level, dissolving in globalization.
The distinction between you and me is fading.
The consequence and cause is the loss of diversity in cities.
It is necessary to adapt the past to the present.
Moving forward is not the same as starting anew.
Having an unclear goal is not the same as not knowing where to go.

The Králové Dvůr Structure
The landscape of Králové Dvůr is an cultivated Podkrkonoší.
It is characterized by a rolling relief interwoven with watercourses.
The land is cultivated with fields, meadows, orchards, and forests.
I observe the contrast between the natural and the cultural here.
Between the hill and the field.
I see things that are softly grown and hard organized.
Looking at the city from a bird's-eye view, I read the same structure in the city.
There are organically grown medieval plots and landscape relief elements.
In contrast, there are orthogonal, hard-looking factories and modern parceling.
How fitting that the hard parallelism of factory roof dormers stops at the soft stream.
How fitting that near Dvůr Králové a landscape composition of the famous Kuks emerged, whose hard symmetry is balanced by soft hills.
How fitting that Dvůr Králové is a working-class city, that is, a place of soft beings living under a hard order of production.

Proposal

The vision is the recycling of the soft-hard principle in an era of unclear goals.
The soft structure is a given to which we rigidly adapt.
The hard structure is order, adaptation to the given in both physical and mental realms.
The hard principle is order allowing for transformation.
It accepts beginning and end.
It accepts the variability of goals in global society.
