Pasohlávky - A year after the laying of the foundation stone, the four-story building of the Pálava Sanatorium today stands in the fields of Pasohlávky in the Brno region. The construction, worth approximately 800 million crowns, has completed roofing and is closed off, except for the glass facades and entrance doors. Outside, workers are working on insulation, while inside they are laying floors. There are about 100 workers on site daily, with more expected to join as work proceeds. The aim is to complete the main construction work by the end of summer, followed by several months of tuning the internal technology. Jiří Klemeš, the project manager, told ČTK today that the facility should be fully completed by February next year.

The therapeutic-rehabilitation institute being built by the region has four above-ground floors. It is divided in half by stairs and elevators. On the ground floor of the right side will be the main entrance, reception, a medical supply shop, and a dining room. The left side will house medical therapies. Part of the underground floor will be used for sulfur water baths and a nearly completed 15-meter-long swimming pool.

The rooms for patients recovering in Pasohlávky after severe and critical conditions in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, traumatology, and orthopedics are located on the upper floors. "In the second and third floors, there will be a total of 80 rooms, each with sanitary facilities. In addition, there will be a nurses' station and a day room. The fourth floor will have 28 more luxurious rooms with terraces, facilities for managing the sanatorium, and a room designated for spiritual purposes," said Klemeš.

The rooms are already divided by partitions, and craftsmen are gradually pouring the floors on the upper levels. Rails for the lifting system are also prepared, which will have a sling for immobile patients. "This will make physical work easier for nurses, who will not have to lift the patient from the bed and transport them to the bathroom complicatedly. This system is supposed to equip 40 rooms. In addition, it will lead to the pool," added Alena Havlíčková from the regional investment department.

According to Klemeš, great attention is being paid to the energy self-sufficiency of the building during construction, which is reflected in the technological demands. The company is also thinking about energy savings during construction. They are using energy from a wind turbine located in front of the building for their work.

The region has entrusted the operation and management of the sanatorium to its organization, Jihomoravská zdravotní. More than 150 people are expected to find work there. Jihomoravská zdravotní anticipates starting the recruitment in the second half of the year. The total cost of the construction is 784 million crowns excluding VAT, plus about 40 million crowns in add-ons. Grants from the National Recovery Plan will cover 289 million crowns.

Near the emerging institute, a spa complex is also planned by the Chinese company RiseSun. Since last summer, the investor has had a building permit. The company's director Edward Xu has not responded to inquiries regarding the start of construction. The region added that it currently has no information on this.
