Prague - The Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM) is today offering two Prague properties in electronic auctions. For sale is the house U Hybernů with a starting price of 447 million crowns and the Veleslavín Castle offered for 357 million crowns. While the house U Hybernů at Republic Square will be auctioned for the first time, the Veleslavín Castle in Prague 6 is being offered by the property office for the fourth time, as there has been no interest in the property during the previous three attempts.
The auction for Veleslavín Castle begins at 10:00 AM and is expected to last 24 hours. In the event of a successful auction, the property office will allow the city of Prague and the Prague 6 district to match the highest offered price. The office made this offer to the capital city and the district after the first attempt, but the then starting price of 580 million crowns was deemed too high by the local authorities.
The auction for the house U Hybernů starts at noon and will also last 24 hours. The property office is offering the property opposite the Municipal House for sale for the first time, after it was taken over from the State Fund for Culture at the end of 2024. Other state institutions have shown no interest in the house.
The property office is currently offering 41 buildings in auctions. The highest price is sought for the Central Bohemian castle Štiřín, which is offered for 982.6 million crowns, followed by the Prague National House in Vinohrady with a starting price of 760 million crowns. Auctions for properties with high starting prices that the property office has held have, however, repeatedly ended unsuccessfully lately. No one has shown interest in the Štiřín castle during the previous five auction attempts, and the eighth attempt to sell the Prague Broadway Palace for 878 million crowns also ended unsuccessfully in January.
