The four seasons resonate in the tones of the new collection of wooden floors Kährs Flora

Nature rules the floors in every direction. The theme of sustainability and the effort to make the best use of limited natural resources has been embedded in the design of the new collection of Kährs Flora wooden floors, which feature a thinner wear layer of 2.5 mm. The collection of single-strip planks, more than two meters long, includes four decors in a popular color palette from natural oak to shades stained white. The diverse colors of the four seasons resonate in the tones of each decor, from freshly cut oak in spring (Oak Yarrow), golden and warm wood tones in summer (Oak Aster), through the dreary tones of autumn (Oak Gentian) to the whitish shades of frosty winter weather (Oak Edelweiss).

"Natural and white-washed oak are well-chosen shades in line with current trends, and the surface finishes include oil or matte lacquer. The decors are more rustic with prominently visible knots, and the natural character of the wood is further emphasized by brushing and micro-beveled edges 4V, i.e., on all four sides of the plank," evaluates the new Kährs Flora collection Aleš Viktorín, the regional sales manager of Kratochvíl parket profi, which is the exclusive importer of this Swedish brand in our country.

The thinner wear layer of the new Kährs Flora collection is a current trend, aiming to genuinely contribute to the topic of sustainability and the protection of natural resources, while also leading to more affordable wooden floors. "For three-layer floors with a total thickness of 13 mm, a 2.5 mm wear layer is an adequate thickness that allows for one to two sandings, which is completely sufficient. People will use it mainly for occasional local damage to the floor. From experience, I can say that the option to renovate a wooden floor after long-term use is realized by people at most once," continues Aleš Viktorín from KPP.

The Kährs Flora Collection Seeks Parallels in Nature

The new Kährs Flora collection also looks for parallels in nature through its names, with four decors featuring either an oil or matte lacquer finish (one decor, Oak Aster, has both finishes) named after meadow plants.

Spring: Oak Yarrow Oil (Yarrow)
Oak Yarrow is lightly stained white, which lightens the natural tone of the oak while giving it a beautifully golden hue. The oiled surface and brushing soften the cracks and knots and highlight the natural grain of the wood – both visually and to the touch.
Yarrow is a widely distributed flower that comes in many shades, from warmer golden tones to the purest white.

Summer: Oak Aster (Aster)
For the Oak Aster floor, the natural wood is left unstained to bring out the warm color of the oak, which is not suppressed by either oil or matte lacquer. Each plank is carefully brushed, which accentuates the natural grain of the wood and simultaneously softens the knots and cracks. All color contrasts are purely natural, allowing the raw material to speak for itself.
Yellow aster shines like a golden sun even in the harshest conditions.

Autumn: Oak Gentian Oil (Gentian)
Oak Gentian has a light beige shade that harmonizes with the darker fibers of the wood, its knots, and cracks. The floor shows us the warm glow of oak and perfectly complements the stylish and modern interior design. The matte lacquered surface is brushed to further highlight the natural texture of the wood.
Gentian breaks through the gray-beige undergrowth, making itself known with its intense blue coloring.

Winter: Decor Oak Edelweiss (Edelweiss)
Thanks to the transparent white oil, the knots and cracks in the Edelweiss decor are not so dominant. The structure of the wood is emphasized by the brushed finish.
The white-stained Edelweiss decor evokes the alpine edelweiss, a flower that grows wild in mountainous terrain.
