We warmly invite you to visit the Viennese architect Hermann Czech at Café Urban. You can look forward to specialty coffee, the spaces of the smallest café in Brno, and an unforgettable atmosphere.
Who are we? We are Café Nihilismus of a new era. The atmosphere of our café is the faded spirit of Brno. We are not a space for the working self-employed creative class. We welcome lonely intellectuals and want to create a club of their friends. Good coffee is served second here. We are people of V-60, moka pots, Viennese coffee, and Turkish coffee. We pour cream, sweeten, and let the grounds settle. A clean white tablecloth and refined behavior are our standards.
Who is Hermann Czech? He was born and lives in Vienna. He studied at the Vienna Academy under Ernst A. Plischke and at the summer school in Salzburg under Konrad Wachsmann. He currently runs his studio in the center of Vienna and is also an active architecture theorist. The work of this Viennese architect Hermann Czech combines intellectualism, consciousness, as well as a sense of unusualness and absurdity that defies predetermined rules. Although his work has been influenced by figures of early Viennese modernism (Josef Hoffmann, Adolf Loos, Josef Frank, ...), the study of films, and postmodernism, it is impossible to categorize the work of architect Czech anywhere; it is multilayered.
