JANEK ROUS & RICHARD JEDON

This year's Offcity architects are in the spirit of discoveries. Discoveries of new Pardubice worlds, nooks, squares, and old familiar places seen through different eyes. We seek answers to how well we know Pardubice; whether our view of the city is the same and shared by everyone. We are interested in how the city is perceived by those who have come here for the first time. Therefore, the task for our guests is simple: to arrive on the specified day in the morning, explore the city with a camera or video recorder, and report on it in the evening.
Janek Rous graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, in the Studio of Monumental Art, and also has an internship at The Cooper Union School of Art, New York. Janek is a conceptual artist and performer who actively uses public space to create specific situations.
The second discoverer and lecturer is environmental psychologist Richard Jedon, who is stepping out of academia. He studied psychology at Masaryk University in Brno, focusing on behavioral mapping and ethnography.
