There is perhaps no more different pair that we could welcome within the cycle of discussion evenings OFFCITY ARCHITEKTI in Pardubice. The photographic team BoysPlayNice and architects from the association Architects Without Borders. A photographic studio creating the media image of architecture and an association uniting architects reflecting on the social aspects of architecture. Are their worlds really that different? Can they communicate with each other? With this discussion evening, we conclude this year’s cycle themed "Talking About Architecture." BoysPlayNice is a photographic studio founded in 2008 by Jakub Skokan and Martin Tůma. The studio focuses on photography of architecture, interiors, products, design, and advertising photography. BoysPlayNice also specializes in creating creative concepts for photographic campaigns. The studio's philosophy is to create an image based on an idea and optimally utilize the possibilities of the photographic medium. The association Architects Without Borders brings together young architects and designers interested in public space and the social impacts of architecture. The association strives to improve the quality of public space and increase public interest in architecture-related topics. Architects Without Borders engage with these topics both theoretically (writing texts, publishing books, and giving lectures) and practically (initiating and implementing projects—especially for disadvantaged people or neglected areas). Since 2019, Architects Without Borders has proudly been a part of the international network of similar organizations—Architecture Sans Frontières International. We look forward to meeting you and to a discussion that will be open to all.
