OFFCITY TRIP meeting at 14:00 at the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers / at Číčák
A walk upstream the Chrudimka river with Jiří Sádlo. The route will lead from the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka to the Nemošice weir. On the way, we will discuss water without water and the landscape around Pardubice. Free entry

After a summer break, we continue our series of lectures titled offcity ne–architects.
Another personality on the stage of Divadlo 29 is an expert in the botanical field with the mysterious name phytocenology (or geobotany) Jiří Sádlo, who deals with how human culture in history and the present influences the occurrence of plant species in specific places. He tells captivating stories about historical changes in nature and does not lack humor or valuable Renaissance overlaps into other fields (ecology, history, sociology, art history).
Jiří Sádlo works at the Botanical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. In addition to expert publications, he is the co-author of the books Biology of the Landscape (co-authored with David Storch) and Landscape and Revolution (co-authored with Petr Pokorný, Pavel Hájek, Dagmar Dreslerová, and Václav Cílek).
Entry fee: 50 CZK
Organized by the non-profit organization Terra Madoda in cooperation with Divadlo 29 as part of the OFFCITY 2011 project. This project is implemented with the support of the statutory city of Pardubice, the Czech Architecture Foundation, and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

meeting at 9:30 at the Main Train Station in Pardubice
A guided tour dedicated to the development of the Nové Město district associated with the emergence of the railway in the mid-19th century. The guide will be construction historian and offcity member František Václavík. The tour will also include a visit to the telecommunications tower.
The event is part of the nationwide festival Architecture Day, whose main organizer is the Prague non-profit organization Kruh.
