Benešov - The castle in Načeradci in the Benešov region, which the state is offering for sale, found no buyers today even in its seventh auction. No one showed interest in the property, and the auction will be repeated, said Radek Ležatka, spokesperson for the Office for the Representation of the State in Property Affairs, to ČTK today.

Compared to previous auctions, the price has been reduced this time, with interested parties now able to bid 15 million crowns instead of the previous 17.5 million. "The next round of the auction will take place in September," Ležatka said. Further price reductions are, according to him, one of the options to attract potential buyers.

Initially, the state required at least 22 million crowns for the castle. In subsequent sales attempts, the price was lowered to 19.8 million, 18.9 million, and then to 17.9 million crowns. The castle was taken into state ownership two years ago from the Sedlec-Prčice children's home as unnecessary property. No state institution showed interest in it, so it is offered for sale.

The two-story building with a simple facade and the adjacent English park are a cultural heritage site and are located in the center of the small town. The park is followed by an orchard and a former vegetable garden and nursery with preserved greenhouses and a staff house, in which the interior spaces were partially reconstructed.

Although it has not been used since 2015, the castle is still relatively in good condition, according to the office. In 1987, craftsmen repaired the roof, interior spaces, utility networks, and facade. In 2000, the boiler room, heating, and air conditioning were reconstructed.

The castle was built in 1734 by František Josef of Starhemberg. Until the end of the 1970s, the premises served as a children's home, then a boarding school was placed here, and later a correctional facility.
