Načeradec - The state is once again offering the castle in Načeradec in the Benešov region for sale. In the first auction held in September, no buyer was found. Therefore, the minimum price was lowered from 22 million crowns to 19.8 million crowns. The repeated auction will take place on October 24 in Benešov. Interested parties can view the complex of land and buildings with a total area of 29,874 square meters on October 17, the spokesperson for the Office for the Representation of the State in Property Matters, Radek Ležatka, informed CTK today.

The state acquired the castle into its ownership last year from the children's home in Sedlec-Prčice as unnecessary property. No state institution showed interest in it, which is why the state is now offering the castle for sale.

The two-story building with a simple facade and the adjacent English park are a registered cultural monument and are located in the very center of the town. The park is bounded by an orchard and a former vegetable garden and horticulture area with preserved greenhouses, as well as a staff house, in which the interior spaces have been partially reconstructed.

Although it has not been used since 2015, according to Ležatka, the castle is still in relatively good condition. A renovation of the roof, interior spaces, utility systems, and facade was carried out in 1987. In 2000, the boiler room, heating, and air conditioning were then renovated.

The castle was built in 1734 by František Josef of Starhemberg. Until the late 1970s, the complex served as a children's home, after which it housed a boarding school and later a reform institution. The castle complex consists of an extensive area of land and buildings. In 2000, the castle was partially reconstructed.

About 1,100 residents live in Načeradec. Besides the castle, the village also has a Jewish cemetery, the Church of St. Peter and Paul, the Stations of the Cross, and the Louňov pond, which is a natural monument.
