Načeradec - The state is again offering the castle in Načeradec in the Benešov region for sale. In the previous three auctions, it was not possible to find a buyer. Therefore, the minimum price has been reduced to 17.9 million crowns. The fourth auction will take place on January 23rd in Benešov, as reported by ČTK on the website of the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters.

Initially, the state demanded at least 22 million crowns for the castle. In subsequent attempts to sell, the price was lowered to 19.8 million and then to 18.9 million CZK. The castle was taken into ownership last year from the Sedlec-Prčice children’s home as unnecessary property. No state institution showed interest in it, so it is being offered for sale.

The multi-storey building with a simple facade and the adjacent English park are a cultural monument and are located in the center of the town. The park is connected to an orchard and a former vegetable garden and horticulture area with preserved greenhouses, as well as staff accommodations that have partially reconstructed interior spaces.

Although it has not been used since 2015, the castle is still considered to be in relatively good condition, according to the office. In 1987, craftsmen repaired the roof, interior spaces, utility network installations, and facade. In 2000, the boiler room, heating, and air conditioning were reconstructed.

The castle was built in 1734 by František Josef of Starhemberg. Until the late 1970s, the complex served as a children's home; after that, it housed a boarding school, and later a reform institution.
