Rožnov pod Radhoštěm - The leadership of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Vsetín region will present three possible scenarios for further steps in the construction of the Cultural Center at a special city council meeting on Monday. This was stated today by the spokesperson of the town hall, Petra Graclíková. The city leadership prefers a variant where cooperation with the contractor of the project documentation would be limited and repairs and adjustments would be made. This would mean that the city would once again select a construction company that would then complete the project and subsequently finish the Cultural Center, as stated by the mayor, Jan Kučera (Independent Rožnov Citizens).

Another option is to continue cooperation with the contractor of the project documentation and announce a new procurement procedure for the construction contractor. The final possibility is to terminate the investment according to the current project documentation, which would mean losing the grant and the need for new design work. The city received a grant of 120 million crowns.

Construction of the center, which was to cost more than 360 million crowns, halted the year before last, with the foundation slab completed. The construction of the Cultural Center began in the spring of the year before last by the Zlín-based construction company Navláčil. It was supposed to be the largest investment project in the city in recent years. The company did not agree with the city leadership on changing the subcontractor for the wooden structure. They also pointed out deficiencies in the project documentation and demanded a higher price for the main construction. In November of the year before last, they withdrew from the contract, and the city reached an agreement with the company to terminate the contract.

The city then ordered an assessment of the project documentation for the center from the Brno University of Technology.
