Třeboň - The Slatinné Spa in Třeboň will expand its accommodation capacity by 90 beds this year. A new building will be constructed near the Aurora Spa for 60 million crowns. One reason for this is that during this year's main season, they will no longer be able to utilize the Regent Hotel, which is part of the Koh-i-noor holding. The current accommodation capacity is around 650 beds, with an additional 450 in guesthouses and hotels that the spa collaborates with. This was stated by the mayor of Třeboň, Jan Váňa (ODS), who is also one of the executives of the spa.
"Our contract with Mr. (Vlastislav) Bříza for the Regent Hotel will end in May, and he wants to terminate it, as he will occupy it himself during June, July, and August. However, we need it most during those periods, so the idea arose that we would expand our accommodation capacity by approximately ninety beds, thus making us independent of it. We will build a new facility," Váňa said.
The spa will utilize modular architecture, which involves the construction of modules made to the size of cells. The costs will be around 60 million crowns. According to Váňa, the spa paid seven million annually for the rental of beds in the Regent Hotel.
The Slatinné Spa is expecting more investments this year. They have begun building an outdoor wellness center for 138 million crowns, will expand the sauna world for 60 million, and additional offices for physiotherapists will also be established.
The company Slatinné lázně, owned by the city, includes Bertiny Spa and Aurora Spa. It employs 460 people. Last year's revenues for the spa are projected to be 446 million, with a pre-tax profit of about 4.5 million. In 2019, the spa had revenues of 552 million and a pre-tax profit of 32.1 million, as reported in the annual report.
