Rožnov pod Radhoštěm - The council of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in Vsetín has approved the announcement of a public tender for the construction of a cultural center. The estimated price of the project, after deducting matters not related to the construction, is approximately 203 million crowns including VAT, said Marek Havran, a representative of the municipal office, in a press release today.
"We have been preparing this major project in Rožnov for a long time. We have put a lot of energy into it, and I believe we have prepared it carefully. Even though we are announcing the public tender at not entirely the most appropriate time, when we are all dealing with something completely different together, it is still necessary to think about the future even in these difficult times and to look forward to the day when we will have such a beautiful cultural center in Rožnov. That is why it is necessary to announce the tender and finally find out what its actual price is so that we are adequately prepared for it in the city budget," stated Mayor Radim Holiš (ANO).
The estimated price is 203.1 million crowns. "The bids from contractors must not exceed this price. This is the price for the construction as such. The telescopic auditorium and mobile furniture are not included. Therefore, the current estimated price is 203 million, and not 215 million, as many remember from the last published figure," Holiš stated.
The city is also waiting for information on the approval or disapproval of a subsidy estimated at around 50 million crowns for the passive standard of the building. Disapproval of the subsidy could be a reason to cancel the public tender. The construction is expected to last 16 months, with work anticipated to begin in July.
The city, with 16,000 residents, plans to invest a record 281 million crowns this year, with the largest project being the construction of a multi-purpose cultural center. Last year, the city allocated 105 million crowns for investments in the budget.
