Prostějov - The local council has shown interest in the land of the bankrupt Garment Company Prostějov in the eastern part of the city. If it succeeds in obtaining subsidies from the state, it would offer over fifteen hectares of land to investors, writes today's regional edition of Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD). Currently, there is a lack of available plots in Prostějov. After the bankruptcy of OP Prostějov, the abandoned premises next to the industrial zone were purchased by Astria Group, the buildings were demolished, and the land clearing is now being completed. Originally, the Prostějov council was not interested in the land, but it has now changed its mind, as it could obtain subsidies from the state for the purchase of the land. "We have negotiated with the management of CzechInvest. We have received basic information and are now waiting for written documentation," said the deputy mayor Jiří Pospíšil (PéVéčko) to the newspaper. The spokesperson for CzechInvest confirmed that the agency had discussions with representatives of Prostějov. If the council were to purchase the land, it would gain control over whom they would allow into the industrial zone. However, neither the council nor Astria Group has disclosed the possible price yet. According to the newspaper, the price per square meter of land in the industrial zone ranges from 200 to 600 crowns.
