Prostějov - A new factory for the production and printing of flexible packaging is set to be constructed by DGPack, a subsidiary of the Russian company Danaflex, in the industrial zone on the outskirts of Prostějov for 100 million euros (2.6 billion crowns). The factory is expected to be completed by the end of 2020 and will employ 245 people. ČTK received this information today from the database assessing the environmental impact of projects, EIA. "The new manufacturing plant is intended to enable the investor to expand into new markets in the European Union," states the announcement of the investment project. Danaflex chose Prostějov in part because the local industrial zone already hosts the production facilities of Windmöller & Hölscher Czech, which specializes in the assembly of machinery and equipment for the production of flexible packaging.
The new DGPack factory will occupy an area of 12,400 square meters in the industrial zone. The investor plans for the new factory to operate in three shifts. The investment will include not only the production hall but also an administrative section.
For the last available plots of land in the industrial zone, Danaflex paid the city 30 million crowns. In the Prostějov industrial zone located in the eastern part of Prostějov, where the DGPack factory is to be built, companies such as Micos, Buderus, Doco, and Hopi have already settled.
Prostějov has consistently registered the lowest unemployment rate in the Olomouc region. In August, the unemployment rate there was 2.9 percent, while the overall rate for the region was 4.3 percent.
