Prague - The leadership of the Prague City Hall will present the current status and the proposal for further steps regarding the planned reconstruction of the Šlechtova restaurant in Stromovka today. The restaurant, which is a cultural monument, has been deteriorating for almost four decades, and the city has unsuccessfully attempted to renovate it for several years.

The repairs of the monument were originally expected to cost around a quarter of a billion crowns. However, the project was deemed too expensive, prompting the architect to simplify it, which will result in the elimination of costly staircases, elevators, and unnecessary sanitary facilities. The new estimated cost of the repairs should be up to 169 million crowns excluding VAT.

The Šlechtova restaurant building, previously known as the Royal Hall, is a cultural monument. It is named after its last owner, Václav Šlecht. Its oldest part dates back to the end of the 17th century, but the building was completed in the mid-19th century.
