Prague - The tender for the renovation of the Šlechtova restaurant in Prague must be repeated. The winning company Pracom did not have all the necessary business licenses, reported the newspaper E15 today based on the statement from the spokesperson of the magistrate, Vít Hofman. According to the newspaper, Pracom has not commented on the situation. The restaurant, which is a cultural monument, has long been deteriorating and the city has postponed repairs several times in the past.
Objections to the tender were submitted by the company Hochtief CZ, which finished second in the competition. The offer from Pracom was also challenged by the Union of Entrepreneurs in Construction due to an unsustainable repair budget, according to the newspaper. Pracom offered the lowest price of all the bidders for the contract - 101 million crowns excluding VAT, while the anticipated price was set by the city at 169 million. The city will now reevaluate the offers from the companies, E15 writes.
The Šlechtova restaurant in Prague's Stromovka, formerly known as the Royal Hall, is named after its last owner, Václav Šlechta. Its oldest part dates back to the end of the 17th century, and it was completed in the mid-19th century. The winner of the tender should carry out a complete renovation of the restaurant. Historical elements are to be restored inside, including the ceiling fresco of Apollo with Venus or the artificial stalactite cave, where a sculpture of Poseidon used to be.
