Prague - The new urban plan for the capital city, known as the metropolitan plan, will be prepared by a team led by architect Roman Koucký. This was stated to reporters today by Deputy Mayor Tomáš Hudeček (TOP 09). The team will work at the Department of Development of the Capital City, which is a contributory organization of Prague. Koucký currently works at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University. Last week, Prague representatives agreed to initiate the preparation of the metropolitan urban plan. Hudeček said that he invited Koucký to lead the team. Next week, an advisory committee of the council is also set to be established, which will draft opinions on the proposed changes to the urban plan. There are over 200 requests for changes to the urban plan pending at the city hall from the past, which, according to Hudeček, need to be completed. The decision on whether they will be approved or rejected will be made by the council. The opinions of the committee should serve as the basis for decision-making. The advisory body will include architects and urban planners Zdeněk Jiran, Jan Sedlák, Petr Hlaváček, Pavel Hnilička, and Jakub Fišer, as well as transport engineer Václav Malina.
