The evaluation of student works and projects was this time taken on by a five-member jury composed of: Maria Topolčanská (chairwoman of the jury), a theorist and critic of architecture active at FA STU in Bratislava, co-founder of the Faculty of Art and Architecture in Liberec, and a member of the legendary atelier SIAL Jiří Suchomel and Tomáš Pilař from the atelier Kuba and Pilař, holder of several nominations for the European Prize for Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award. There were also representatives from the ranks of students – laureates from the previous semester: Bc. Petr Hudec and Bc. Miroslav Malý. The jury began an almost all-day marathon of critiques and discussions over nearly 300 projects early that morning. With surprisingly quick judgment, the jury managed to select 20 works for advancement to the next round from this amount of proposals, from which 8 finalists emerged, who were sure to receive recognition. Among these projects were Bc. Karolína Mikitová, Bc. Hana Typltová, Jakub Ertl, Alžběta Sedláčková, and the trio of ladies Bc. Zdeňka Sedláková, Bc. Linda Píšová, and Bc. Lenka Gulačová. The festive announcement of the results took place later that same day with a large turnout of students and professors, creating a truly pleasant and informal atmosphere: folk dance performances, dulcimer music, and moderators dressed in traditional costumes. Maria Topolčanská opened the event with a speech and announced three winning projects and five awarded works to the sounds of dulcimer music. The Bohuslav Fuchs Award for the three best studio projects was awarded to Bc. Lenka Holcnerová for the project "Wave overtopping – overflowing waves" (supervisor: Ing. arch. Jan Mléčka), Miroslava Šešulková, Marek Petrík, and Martin Surovec for the project "Strategies for the regeneration of panel housing estates" (supervisor: doc. Ing. arch. Maxmilián Wittmann, Ph.D.), and Daniel Struhařík for the project "Mendlovo Square – multifunctional object" (supervisor: Ing. arch. Pavel Jura). The jury was satisfied with the quality of the students' works from the Faculty of Architecture. The selection of the eight finalists was not difficult. These were works that truly stood out from the others.
The Bohuslav Fuchs Award takes place at the initiative and under the direction of the Students' Community of the Faculty of Architecture, with the support of the faculty and several sponsors.
