GLASS MATTERS

Glass can serve various functions and can do much more than you think. Anti-sun glass can provide protection against the sun while allowing a high level of light transmission, acoustic glass protects against street noise, and security glass can protect against injury or burglary.

Saint-Gobain Building Glass manufactures and offers a complete range of different types of flat building glass. It produces high-performance and innovative glass for every home, apartment, or workplace where comfort and safety are required. The range is divided into three main areas: facades, windows, and interior design.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

GLASS FACADE
AESTHETICS, PROTECTION, AND VISUAL COMFORT

Fully glazed facades have recently become a major trend in the envelopes of representative buildings. A building with them looks modern and luxurious. Besides, glass facades allow light to penetrate deep into the building and provide users with a visual connection to the outside environment.

GLAZING FOR PASSIVE HOUSES
WINDOWS ARE THE BE ALL AND END ALL OF PASSIVE HOUSE DESIGN

A passive house should consume only 15 kWh/m2 per year. To achieve this, it is optimal to compensate for the energy losses of the house with free thermal gains from the sun. This is where the greatest potential of windows lies. If thermal gains are not utilized, a source must provide the required energy. It is clear that the more solar energy gains are utilized, the less needs to be invested in more expensive modifications and technical measures. This essentially embodies the fundamental principle of a passive house, which works very well with free solar energy that the owner does not have to pay for.

GLASS PARTITIONS
DESIGN WITH PRACTICAL SIGNIFICANCE

Functional, design, and acoustic space separation. It can separate parts with different functions so that they are sound, heat, or security isolated. Additionally, the entry of natural daylight into the depths of the interior and eye contact remains preserved. Besides the mentioned functional features, a glass partition brings lightness and timeless aesthetics to the interior.

ACOUSTIC GLASS
REDUCTION OF URBAN NOISE LEVEL

Noise is considered one of the main factors of stress, especially when encountered in our home environment. However, outdoor noise can be kept to a minimum by using effective glazing that is tailored to the usual noise level in the specific area.

BIRD PROTECTION IN ARCHITECTURE
GLASS WITH ETCHED PATTERN COMBINED WITH ANTI-SUN PROPERTIES

The 4BIRD® product range from SAINT-GOBAIN BUILDING GLASS consists of anti-sun glasses specifically aimed at effective protection against bird strikes. This protection offers sustainable solutions for biodiversity conservation as well as more reasonable energy consumption for buildings while maintaining a neutral external aesthetic.

SMART ONLINE APPLICATION HELPS TO COMBINE THE BENEFITS OF GLASSES

Glazing forms the largest area of the window, and therefore the properties of glass significantly influence the resulting values of the final product. If you are planning a construction or renovation and preparing to choose windows, it is good to clarify what you expect from windows or facades – and thus especially from glass. The definition of glass by means of the so-called U-value is no longer sufficient today.
