The Association For a Beautiful Olomouc announces a call for submissions for the eighth year of the Rudolf Eitelberger Award 2023 for successful implementation in the fields of architecture, urbanism, and heritage care in the city of Olomouc and the Olomouc region. Participants can send proposals and suggestions until July 15.

The aim of the award is to highlight successful projects that have influenced architectural culture in Olomouc and the entire Olomouc region from 2021 up until the middle of this year. The award is named after the Olomouc native Rudolf Eitelberger von Edelberg (1817–1885), the founder of museums, modern art history, and heritage care, as well as a commentator on political, architectural, and urban affairs.

Through this symbolic award, the association fulfills one of its goals, which is to promote and inform the public about construction or urban changes that influence the architectural, heritage, and urban values of the affected locations. The organizers hope that as many interested individuals as possible from the Olomouc region, who care about the environment around us, will join the discussion and submit proposals.

Suggestions from members of the association and the broader public will be evaluated by an independent expert committee. From the nominated projects, a winning project will emerge, to be announced during the Architecture Day festival on September 30, 2023, whose authors will receive the traditional trophy – a sculpture by Jaroslav Koléšek.

You can send proposals and suggestions to the email address: krasnaolomouc@gmail.com
