Who will take home the silver "R. E. Award" this year?
This will be decided by a committee, the composition of which we can already introduce to you. The historian of architecture, a member of the association For Beautiful Olomouc, and the head of the Department of Art History at the University of Olomouc, Rostislav Švácha, will chair the council of leading experts. Practicing architects are represented by Pavel Nasadil and Jan Šépka. The former is a member of the Czech Architecture Foundation, the latter is the laureate of the Rudolf Eitelberger Award from 2008. They will be joined by Adam Gebrian, a promoter and commentator on architecture across all media. The head of the Concept and Development Department of the Olomouc City Hall, Jana Křenková, and the director of the Olomouc territorial office of the National Heritage Institute, František Chupík, will also contribute their opinions. Publisher Dagmar Vernerová, the spiritual mother of the Czech Architectural Yearbook, will arrive from Prague, and from Bratislava, the leading Slovak architectural theorist Marian Zervan will join. The curator of the architecture collection at the National Gallery in Prague, Jakub Potůček, is sure to express his sharp judgment again.

How can you influence the course of the competition and its outcome? Your tips on successful architectural achievements in the Olomouc Region will be included in the first round of the competition. From there, the committee will nominate a shortlist, which they will assess in person, determine the ranking, special prizes, and honorable mentions, and finally the winner. The nominated projects will be published, and the winner awarded on Saturday, October 3, 2015, as part of the Architecture Day festival. You will be informed of the details in a timely manner.

We highly appreciate your proposals and suggestions, which you can send until July 30, 2015 to our new address krasnaolomouc@gmail.com

The aim of this symbolic award is to draw attention to those interventions that have positively and successfully influenced the environment of the cities and countryside of the Olomouc Region in the past period, from 2013 until mid-2015. We want to contribute to the promotion and informing the public about architectural and urban innovations. The name "R. E. Awards" hides the name of a significant personality, the Olomouc native Rudolf Eitelberger von Edelberg (1817–1885), the first professor of art history at the University of Vienna and the founder of the Museum of Applied Arts there (now MAK) and the School of Applied Arts.
