The main criterion of this assignment was to create a minimal spa close to our place of residence. I live in a village near Jablonec nad Nisou called Haratice. For the local people, the most popular activities for active relaxation are nature walks. Since I also love the local nature, I decided to focus on it.
In the area of spa treatment, I focused on sensory and mental purification, which I also linked with a typically spa element, which is water. Given the beauty of the local nature, I wanted to create something that would not significantly disrupt or alter it. For me, it was essential to highlight certain places and create a space to enjoy their unique atmosphere.

I created a reinforced concrete structure, which I placed in various configurations in the Kamenice River. The assemblies are distributed in the part of the river that flows along Palackého Trail or in the streams that flow into Kamenice. The structure partially damns the river while allowing people free access to the water, where they can wade, swim, or just sit. In some places, this structure also serves the function of a bridge, which is missing along this 7km trail. However, the bridge is not of a typical type; it is designed more as a crossing of the river over stones.
The individual assemblies consist of prefabricated components. The components have three basic shapes in a 250mm module. I can assemble these components in various ways like a puzzle, creating a diverse number of configurations. Some horizontal surfaces of the components are covered with wood for a more pleasant seating experience, even in cooler weather.


The result of my work is a simple principle that can be applied anywhere.
