The fifth PechaKucha Night will take place at its time in the largest cinema in Czechoslovakia. On this unique evening, April 25, 2013, at 20:20, the Elektra cinema in Plzeň will open its doors. The hall will once again come alive with creators from artistic fields across the Czech Republic, who will present their work, ideas, and plans. You are invited to come and watch a unique inspirational presentation in the format of 20 images x 20 seconds.
Among the guests, we will welcome the exceptional photographer Bet Orten, a graduate of the London College of Fashion, who received the Photographer of the Year award at the Czech Grand Design Awards 2012. Štěpán Řehoř and Vít Šimek, also known as H3T architects, will introduce you to traveling saunas, tea houses, and levitating toilets. Lucie Lišková is a distinctive tattoo artist who does not use a tattoo machine in her work. The group Cancel will present their work with public space. Among other things, they are behind the project "This! Damn it," a guerrilla intervention into the quasi-public space of a supermarket. Lenka Hrubá, in her project Garden on a Thread, will reveal the fascinating aesthetics of levitating plants – Japanese kokedama. Next, Monika Krobová, a student of clothing design at the AAAD under the guidance of Liběna Rochová, will present her work. She has been nominated for the Czech Grand Design Awards twice in a row. Marek Vocel, head of Karel Schwarzenberg's presidential campaign, will touch upon the topic of political marketing. The avant-garde duo Suché-Maška will also have space for their diverse projects. Last but not least, we will be convinced of her talent by Markéta Jáchimová, a student of Kurt Gebaurer's sculpture studio at AAAD, known for her ironic expository work related to Václav Klaus's worldview.
This time, PechaParty will not be missing either. The Prague residents of the club Chaepau Rouge DJ's Wwera and Acustic Terrorist will take care of it.
Tickets will be available for purchase just before the event at the Elektra cinema building and in advance sales there as well.
PechaKucha Night takes place as part of the Finále Plzeň festival.
