On Monday, November 13, 2017 at 6:30 PM, Finnish architect Rainer Mahlamäki, author of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, will give a lecture in lecture hall 155 Gočár at the Faculty of Architecture of Czech Technical University in Prague, Thákurova 9. In 2005, he won an architectural competition for the design of this building, defeating Daniel Libeskind and Kengo Kuma.

Professor Rainer Mahlamäki is a Finnish architect and dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Oulu. For over twenty years, he has collaborated with colleague Ilmari Lahdelma, with whom he founded the office Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects in 1997. Their portfolio includes significant buildings both in Finland and throughout Europe. Their works include the buildings of Helsinki University and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, which has received numerous awards, including the Chicago Athenaeum - The International Architecture Award.

The cycle is part of the "November Talks" series, organized for the 12th year by the Sto-Stiftung foundation at six leading European architecture schools. It has been held at the Faculty of Architecture of Czech Technical University for the third year.

Lectures will take place every Monday at 6:30 PM on November 6 (Jacob van Rijs – MVRDV), November 13 (Rainer Mahlamäki), and November 20 (Kees Christiaanse) in the Gočár lecture hall, Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University in Prague, Thákurova 9, Prague 6 – Dejvice. The cycle will conclude on November 27, 2017, with a lecture by Farshid Moussavi at the Bethlehem Chapel, Bethlehem Square 255/4, Prague 1 – Old Town. Entry to the lectures is free and barrier-free.
