The Al UMPRUM Atelier invites you to a series of lectures by Helena Čapková History of Modern World Architecture / Narratives of Collaboration This six-part lecture series will discuss and introduce students to chapters from the history of modern and contemporary architecture from the second half of the 19th century. The goal of the lecturer is to instill in the audience the contexts and significant features of the work of prominent architects and their teams. In addition to the most well-known studios led by Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, and their collaborators, the work of architectural duos such as the Smithsons or SANAA will be highlighted. Other topics will include larger teams and institutions-networks such as Bauhaus, Wiener Werkstätte, and the artistic outlook and architecture of the Arts & Crafts Movement. The selection of architects will not be limited to personalities from the so-called historical centers, meaning Europe and the USA, but will also present actors from other contexts: Japan, India, and Latin America. where: lecture hall No. 115, UMPRUM, nám.
