Between the sea and the land. Lenka Holcnerová, even during her studies at the FA VUT in Brno, traveled to Portugal for a study internship at the Universidade Lusíada in Lisbon. This inevitably influenced the topic of her thesis, where she addressed the use of energy from sea waves and its application in cities. This was followed by work opportunities on international projects in Equatorial Guinea, where she collaborated with Portuguese and Spanish architects on a proposal from the local government for social housing. Her work on the project earned her an invitation to lecture at the prestigious Pratt Institute in New York, but something drew her back to Lisbon. In 2015, she established her own studio here, where she primarily focuses on renovations and projects utilizing renewable resources in architecture and urban planning.
